  • About Revelife

    Revelife Mission
Rarely do Christians of various backgrounds, upbringings, belief structures and mindsets have the opportunity to meet and interact.  Revelife exists as a place where Christians can discuss, analyze, share, and connect with each other and with those who might not share the same beliefs.

    What is Revelife?
Revelife is a blog, but more than that, we are an online community that exists to connect Christians with each other and with those who might not know or share our beliefs.  We connect with each other through writing featured posts and discussing the topics of these posts with the community.

We want our content to be thought-provoking and challenging. We seek to feature original content on subjects of faith, current events, progressive culture, social injustice, arts and entertainment, and all things relevant to the modern Christian church.

We encourage dialogue that is constructive, honest and open-minded, and we don't want to limit the conversation to just those who agree with us.  The discussion is open to all peoples of all walks of life, all beliefs, all opinions, all cultures, all races, all genders, and we value and appreciate open lines of mature, honest communication.

Our goal is to create a community of individuals with wider eyes and broader vision, well-rounded in our understanding and respectful of those who agree and disagree with our beliefs.

    Content and Behavioral Policy
We view Revelife as a platform for not only discussion among Christians, but for reaching those who may not know or believe in our faith.  We do this by featuring posts on subjects that deal with faith and the Christian life and by allowing all members of the Revelife community to freely discuss the topics of these posts.  We choose to make this set of guidelines and, when necessary, moderate the site because we feel it is important that all members of the community feel respected.

The Revelife Editorial Team will feature content that is considerate of others, which is respectful and civil toward all members of the Revelife community, regardless of who they are and what they believe.  Revelife has made itself available to the public, and as such, people of all beliefs and practices can and will read the content of the site.  Content that is discriminatory, bigoted, and hateful will not be featured on the site.

We expect the Revelife community to write comments that are constructive with the understanding that all members of the community are free to share their views, including those with whom we disagree.  Revelife is not in the business of promoting a specific agenda, and members, in turn, should not consider Revelife to be a place to force others to agree with their beliefs.  Those who write comments that derail the conversation or discuss something that is not related to the topic of the original post run the risk of being warned and having their comments deleted.  As editors, we use our discretion in determining which comments meet the criteria for deletion.

Those who choose to become involved on Revelife will not use this site to harm, abuse, threaten, harass, stalk or invade the privacy of any member of the Revelife community.  These actions are in direct violation of the Xanga.com Terms of Use to which all account holders have agreed.  Further, we will not allow the site to be used to attack, mock, insult, condemn, ridicule or otherwise isolate any member of the Revelife community on the basis of his or her religious, political, social, ethnic, or other personally held beliefs.

We do not approve the extensive use of language that is vulgar, obscene, libelous, defamatory or otherwise hateful.  These actions are in direct violation of the Xanga.com Terms of Use to which all account holders have agreed.  Further, while we will not censor members of the community should they use profanity in moderation, such censorship might occur if members of the community abuse this privilege.

Please contact the Revelife Editorial Team in the event that these guidelines are violated by any user at any time, regardless of his or her affiliation with Revelife.  Those who are found to be in violation of this policy will first receive a written warning from a member of the Revelife Editorial Team.  If problems persist, members do run the risk of being permanently blocked from the Revelife website.  Lastly, we will, at times, remind the community of this policy in a post or a comment, and these reminders are to be respected and taken seriously.

    How To Get Involved
We know the front page can seem a bit daunting to those who are viewing it for the first time; here is a list of ways that you can be involved in the Revelife community:

Sign up for a Revelife account.  It's easy and takes just a few minutes, but a Revelife account has a lot of great features, including space to do your own blogging, share photos, and connect with other members of the Xanga community.

Submit a post to Revelife.  Once you've written something you'd like to share with the community, send it our way!  The editors of Revelife thoughtfully choose the best posts and feature them on the front page!

Read other posts and comment on them.  The dialogue that develops on the posts we feature is the heart of the Revelife community and is by far the best way to interact with other members of the community!

Vote for posts you like.  You actually do have a say in what is featured on the Revelife front page.  Take some time to see what posts have been submitted and let us know what posts you like the best!

Subscribe to our RSS feed, follow us on Twitter, and become a fan of us on Facebook!  We embrace social networking, and we know you won't always have time to check the front page each day.  We use these tools to let you know what posts we're featuring so you can best decide what posts you'd like to read and discuss.
